Conventional systems are often unsuitable for the optimum, safe storage of solid or liquid substances and their use can result in premature corrosion, leaks and problems with safety. Flexibility is another important factor. Tanks must be flexible in terms of size and substrate and optimally adaptable to the local conditions.

Brewery wastewater treatment process
1. Pretreatment
Screen/grille interception
Removal of large suspended solids (e.g. beer lees, wheat husks, etc.).

Conditioning pool
Adjust the water quality and quantity to reduce the fluctuation of subsequent treatment load.

Homogeneous homogeneity
Stirring to evenly distribute pollutants and improve the treatment effect.

2. Physical processing
Precipitation/air flotation
Gravity or bubbles are used to separate suspended solids (e.g. primary sedimentation before activated sludge processing).
Filtration
Suspended solids and colloidal substances are further removed by means of a filter or screen.

3. Biological treatment
Anaerobic treatment
Degradation of high concentrations of organic matter (e.g., COD 500–40,000 mg/L) to produce biogas (which can be used for power generation or heating).

Commonly used processes: hydrolysis acidification tank, anaerobic digestion tank. Aerobic treatment Activated sludge method: use microorganisms to degrade residual organic matter (such as BOD, COD).

Biofilm method: microorganisms attach to the surface of the filler to form a biofilm to stabilize the treatment of pollutants. Process example: SBR cell (sequential batch reactor).

4. In-depth processing
Adsorption/oxidation
Activated carbon adsorbs color and refractory organic matter, ozone or hydrogen peroxide oxidatively decomposes pollutants.

Membrane treatment
Ultrafiltration or reverse osmosis technologies enable wastewater reuse or zero discharge (e.g. Barros membrane technology).

Disinfect
Ultraviolet light or chemical agents kill pathogenic microorganisms.

5. Sludge treatment
Concentration and dehydration
Sludge volume reduction by belt press or centrifuge.

Stabilization
Anaerobic digestion or composting for sludge stabilization.

Key Metrics & Criteria
Emission standards: It is necessary to comply with the "Discharge Standards for Pollutants in the Beer Industry" (GB19821-2005), and it is forbidden to discharge into Class I/II waters.

Core Parameters:
The COD/BOD: ratio is typically 1.25–1.5, and biological treatment can be reduced to emission limits.
SS (Suspended Solids): Reduced to a specified range by physical and chemical methods.

Precautions
High-concentration wastewater: (e.g. fermentation broth) needs to be pre-treated separately to avoid impacting the main treatment system.

Temperature control: High-temperature wastewater (e.g. distillation) needs to be cooled to a suitable temperature (≤40°C) for biological treatment.

Recycling: Cooling water can be recycled into the soaking process, reducing the total water discharge. Through these processes, brewery wastewater can be effectively discharged or reused and reused as a resource (e.g. biogas for power generation).

About Us
Lipp-company3
Anyang lipp silo Engineering Co.,Ltd is a joint venture with its German partner, Lipp GmbH, the founder of Lipp® silo. Founded in 1984, Anyang Lipp has built over 10,000 steel silos in China and other countries like USA, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Malaysia, Egypt, Zambia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Brunei etc.

Milestones
1985
We built the first Lipp silo for Xixia Distillery in Shandong Province, China, filled the gap of Chinese steel silo construction.
