Lipp silo is thin wall structure. To ensure its structural strength, we need to know the bulk density of the stored material. It’s great that the client can provide exact bulk density of the stored material. If not, at least let us know what kind of material will be stored so that we could check it out for the client and make the structural calculation.

 

Silo is normally a part of fully operating system which may include material collecting, storage, discharging, etc. To match with its preceding and following functioning units, silo, as the storage unit, has to be specially designed. For example, if pneumatic transmission is used to load material into silo, dust collector, relief valve should be equipped; if the direct truck loading is needed, the silo shall be lifted high to leave at least 5 meters clearance of the discharge point.

 

In short, the client is recommended to provide design drawings or at least tell us more about the planning of the silo system, from material collecting to discharge. In this way, we can work out offer for the exact system you need.

 

There are many additional configurations for silo system like external insulation, internal ventilation, inert gas injection, material breakage prevention, heavy duty anti-corrosion, specialized steel required, etc. Thus, let us know in the beginning if you have special requirement for your silo.
